Classroom Grants

We are happy to announce that during the fall portion of the 2024-2025 school year, we were able to give $4,500 in grants to 4 staff initiatives. This amount will promote such ventures such as a set of Presidential Biographies for the school library and a Buddy Bench for the playground at Scott Elementary School, a set of river exploration waders and personal flotation devices for 4th graders to have a hands-on science experience in the Looking Glass River, and classroom sets of books that go above and beyond the existing curriculum at Herbison Woods.

In the past we've helped support a variety of efforts, a few examples of which include ongoing teacher training, inspirational signs in Herbison Woods, classroom kits of Slumberkins, classroom organization materials, helping pay the entry fee for a team of high schoolers to compete in the Quiz Bowl National Championship Tournament, and green recycling initiatives.

Student Scholarships

For the class of 2025, the Foundation awarded $19,500 in scholarship funds.  Each year, the Foundation provides numerous scholarships to deserving DeWitt graduating seniors who want to continue their education at colleges, universities, or trade schools. The funds for these scholarships come from donations from businesses, alumni, and members of the community
